Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"We were mind-blown. Haven’t had such a seafood feast for years. As a Cantonese, eating here transported me back home. The lobster was so good!! We ordered the spicy flavor and it was the perfect combo of spices - savory, spicy, with a little bit of sweetness. The ong choy / water spinach was also so authentic that I ate even the chili slices in them . Remember to call ahead to book a table. It was sooo busy that they had to turn away most of the walk-ins while we were there. We called 30min ahead and got a table."
"Super yummy, super fast and very friendly service, that's a definite 5-star for me. The dishes with photos are all yummy, the last dish with Chinese sausage which I don't have a photo is very very salty though, that's the only negative for me for the night, but the positives are enough to earn the 5-star from me."
"Serving authentic Cantonese dishes, Causeway Bay Seafood Restaurant reminded me of my home town of Hong Kong and was absolutely delectable! It was extremely busy for a Wednesday so I would definitely recommend booking. Every single dish was 10/10 . The seafood was fresh & flavourful - the lobster e-fu noodles were cooked to perfection. The steamed fish was cooked traditionally and was smooth and delicious."
"We came here on a Monday night and it was packed! You know the food will be hitting. Make sure you book when you come here. We ordered 4 mains and 1 fried rice. The black pepper dice steak has got to be the best stir fry steak I have ever had. It is succulent, juicy, tender, amazing stir fry taste. It goes very well with XO sauce seafood fried rice. You can’t really go wrong with their sweet and sour pork, it’s a great dish. We also got the salt and pepper squid, great combination too. The only thing we didn’t enjoy as much was the salted egg yolk chicken. There was a hiccup with our order, they forgot our salted egg yolk chicken and when we asked them to cancel it, they said it’s already gone down the wok It was very busy so that’s okay. The food portion is huge, great value for the money."
"I can see why there’s glowing reviews for this restaurant, it really deserves 5/5 stars. Every dish we ordered was cooked well and came out quickly. A lot of wok hei, which you can tell the chef is highly skilled. Price is fairly reasonable for the high quality seafood dishes we ordered, my favourite was soft shell crab with salt pepper. I’m not sure if there’s an English menu but the our menu was all in Chinese. The atmosphere was good and tables were clean, I would have preferred dining inside but eating outside reminded me of the hawker stalls you find in Asia. I’m going to call it now this restaurant is the best Cantonese/HK style restaurant in Brisbane. Will definitely be back to try other dishes."
"Happy Chinese new year, plenty of good food and very helpful staff. Just like being in China it is real Chinese food not sweet and sour pork and Mongolian lamb."
"Great seafood restaurant. Truly enjoyed their crabs, steamed fish, abalone and black pepper beef (so good that we ordered two!) Their specially dish is the coconut chicken soup. Not my personal favourite but everyone in my group loved it Reasonable prices but lack of English menu so preferable ask the waiter for recommendations and seafood availability of the day. Service was quick and attentive though can expect be a bit of a wait during peak dinner time. Highly recommended to book a table especially on the weekends."
"Food is nice and fresh, big portions for good price, food comes out fast. We will come again!"
